KOCHI: The Kerala High Court termed as improper removing the gold plated sheets covering the Dwarapalaka sculptures in Sabarimala without prior permission. The Devaswom bench pointed that there are orders requiring prior permission from the special commissioner and the high court's order is inevitable. The court said there was enough time to seek permission from the court. The high court directed the devaswom board to submit a report on the matter on Friday.

The high court considered the plea related to the removal of the gold-plated sheets covering the Dwarapalaka sculptures, for repair. The special commissioner's report stated that the removal was done without court permission. The commissioner has submitted a report to the high court pointing that it was a serious lapse not following the high court's order that all gold related works at the shrine must be undertaken at Sannidhanan with the permission of the court.

However, Travancore Devaswom Board President P S Prashanth responded that there was no lapse in the incident. Prashanth pointed that Thiruvabharanam Commissioner is the one who is responsible for the gold-plated sheets. These were removed after preparing a Mahasar with his knowledge. Prashanth said some from our group are behind the news.
