PT-7's presence confirmed, RRT team with Kumki elephants goes into forest

PALAKKAD: A mission has been launched to catch the wild elephant PT-7 (Palakad Tusker 7) who is spreading terror in the residential area of Dhoni, Palakkad. A RRT team headed by Forest Chief Veterinary Surgeon Arun Zachariah went to the forest in search of the elephant. The presence of the elephant has been confirmed.

Kumki elephants named Surendran, Bharat and Vikram are also with the team. There are 75 forest guards for the mission in Dhoni. If PT-7 is found alone in a safe place, he will be tranquilized and caught. The inspection of the cage, for housing the elephant, was completed yesterday.
