Alert on Black Sea Phenomenon
As part of the black sea phenomenon, the Kerala coast will experience 0.5 to 1.1 meters of rain today (23/09/2025) till 08.30 pm; The National Centre for Oceanographic Studies and Research (INCOIS) has informed that there is a possibility of sea erosion due to high waves of 1.2 to 1.4 meters on the coasts from Neerodi to Arokyapuram in Kanyakumari today (23/09/2025) till 08.30 pm.

Fishermen and coastal residents should be alert as there is a possibility of sea attacks.

As the sea is likely to become rougher, they should stay away from the danger areas as per the instructions of the authorities.

Launching small boats and yachts into the sea should be avoided during this time.

Landing fishing vessels into the sea during a period of high tide and rough seas is just as dangerous as launching them ashore. Therefore, landing and landing them ashore during periods of strong waves should be avoided.

Until the INCOIS warning is withdrawn, all activities, including tourism, focused on beaches should be completely avoided.

Keep fishing vessels (boats, yachts, etc.) safely tied up in the harbor. Maintaining a safe distance between boats can avoid the risk of collision. Ensure the safety of fishing equipment.

Avoid trips to the beach and recreational activities at sea completely.

Be especially vigilant as coastal erosion is possible.
