THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mahila Congress Pathanamthitta district secretary Ranjitha Pulikkal has been arrested in the case of insulting the complainant of the rape case against Rahul Mamkootathil. Ranjitha Pulikkal had posted on Facebook insulting the rape victim. She was arrested by the Pathanamthitta Cyber ​​Police when she was at a relative's house in Kottayam.

Two cases have been registered against Ranjitha under non-bailable sections. She had insulted the complainant in the first case against Rahul also. At that time, the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber ​​Police registered a case against her, and later she was granted conditional bail. Ranjitha later shared the post insulting the survivor in the third complaint against Rahul.

Meanwhile, the hearing on the bail application of Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who is remanded in a sexual harassment case, has been completed. The hearing was held in a closed courtroom. It was the prosecution that had requested the Thiruvalla Magistrate's Court to hear the case in a closed courtroom. The court will pronounce its verdict on the bail application tomorrow. Advocate Sasthamangalam Ajith appeared for Rahul Mamkootathil. The court will also consider the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and will decide on the bail application. For evidence collection, Rahul, who was taken into custody the other day, was taken to the hotel in Thiruvalla, where he is said to have raped the victim.
