Shijin addicted to sex chats; beats son to death for obstructing physical relationship with wife

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shocking details have emerged in the incident of a man beating his one-year-old son Iqan to death in Neyyattinkara. The police have now released the details of the confidential statement given by the child's mother Krishnapriya. The police have also found that Shijin, the boy’s father, is a notorious criminal. The police had collected information the other day that he did not like Iqan.

The police found that the obstruction of physical relationship with his wife and sex chats had caused him to harbor resentment towards the child and that Shijin had relationships with many women. Shijin even had a special group on WhatsApp for sex chats. Whenever he slept with the child, he would cover his face with a blanket. Krishnapriya said that she did not expect that Shijin would abuse her son like this and that she and her child faced constant abuse at his house.

The child cried when Shijin sat with Krishnapriya on the night of the murder. With this, the accused hit the child in his abdomen with his elbow. After this, the child suffered a lot of discomfort. Krishnapriya gave a statement that he did not even agree to take the child to the hospital. The mother has given a statement that the child was taken to the hospital only after forcing him and by the time they reached there, the child had died.

Meantime, the police also found that Shijin had broken the child's arm earlier. The police said that he did not keep a single picture of his son on his phone and that he only had a picture of his son’s broken arm on his phone.

Iqan died last Friday. Relatives had alleged that the child collapsed after eating biscuits given by his father. The postmortem report revealed that the child had bruises on his lower abdomen and a broken arm. This prompted the police to investigate further. Shijin, who was arrested in the incident, has been remanded.
