KALPETTA: Devastated Shruthi tenderly gives her last kiss to her fiancé Jenson. The body was brought to the hospital for Shruthi to have a last glimpse of him. It was earlier decided to take her to the church and show his body. However, the body was brought to the hospital as her mental and physical situation was bad. The body was kept in the hospital for 15 minutes. Many paid their last respects to Jenson when the body was brought home.
Shruti, native of Chooralmala lost her parents and sister in the landslide that hit Wayanad recently. Jenson was her fiancé and was her only support. Jenson (24), son of Jayan and Mary, died in the car accident at Ambalavayal Andoor Parimalam. The omni van in which Shruthi, Jenson and their relatives were traveling met with an accident on the national highway at Vellaramkunnu in Kalpatta on Tuesday. The van collided with a private bus on its way to Shruthi's relative's house in Koduvally.
Jenson was on the driver’s seat. Shruthi was sitting next to him. Jenson was trapped in the driving seat for almost 15 minutes. Only after a great effort, the people trapped in the vehicle was taken out. Jenson was first taken to a private hospital in Kalpetta and later to a private medical college in Meppady. He died last night at 8.30 pm.
The cause of death was brain injury and bleeding from the head and nose. Nine people including Shruthi and Jenson sustained injuries in the accident. Shruti lost nine family members including her parents and sister in the landslide. Shruthi is living with her relative in a rented house in Kalpetta. Shruthi injured both her legs in the accident and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kalpetta.
