THRISSUR: Synthetic drugs are dehumanizing people, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He stated that the police and excise departments are effectively taking action against this menace. The number of cyber crimes involving the misuse of modern technology has also increased. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat these issues. He was addressing the passing-out parade of 118 sub-inspector trainees from the 31 B batch at the Kerala Police Academy in Ramavarmapuram, Thrissur.
In recent times, the unchecked spread of the drug mafia has been destroying society, affecting people regardless of age or gender. The Chief Minister stressed that the newly inducted officers must play a crucial role in strengthening the fight against the mafia.
During the event, he presented awards to trainees who excelled during their training period. T.S. Shruthi was recognized as the best indoor cadet, while Varsha Madhu was named the best outdoor cadet. Major Jose was awarded the title of best shooter, and Bibin John Babuji was honored as the all-rounder.
MLA P. Balachandran, Mayor M.K. Varghese, State Police Chief Dr. Sheikh Darvesh SahEb, and Police Academy Director I.G. K. Sethuraman were also present at the event.
