Teacher dies in car-lorry collision in Kannur, husband, daughter sustain injuries

KANNUR: A teacher from Wayanad died after a car and a mini-lorry collided at Kuruva in Kannur. The dead has been identified as Sreenitha Jijilesh (32) of Thekkumthara in Kalpetta. She was an IT teacher at Kalpetta NSS School and the president of DYFI Vengappally Cholappuram unit.

The car in which Sreenitha and her family were travelling collided with a lorry at around 3:30 pm yesterday. Sreenitha, her husband Jijilesh and their two children were injured in the accident. They were admitted to a private hospital in Kannur. Sreenitha died last night at around 11.30 pm. The injuries of Jijilesh and the children are not serious.
