KUNNATHUR: The demise of Anjana, a bank employee, was when there are only days left for her wedding. Her hometown bid a tearful adieu to Anjana (25), who died in a scooter accident near Ookkenmukku Junction at Sasthamcotta in Kollam Tuesday morning. She fell down after a school bus hit her scooter and then was run over by a private bus. The incident happened when she was on her way to the bank.

Anjana is daughter of late Congress leader S B Mohanan of North Saradalayam Thodiyoor and Ajitha, former Thodiyoor grama panchayat member and employee of Thodiyoor Service Cooperative Bank. She was the youngest of two daughters. Her father died five years ago. Anjana struggled a lot to help her mother at home and build her own life.

It has been months since her dream of a job came true. Her marriage was fixed a year ago. She was engaged to Akhil of Kallelibhagam in Mynagappally. Her wedding was scheduled for October 19. Preparations for the wedding were underway in both the houses. Her wedding dress was bought the other day. After postmortem, her body was draped in the wedding sari. After keeping the body at the Karimthottuva Service Cooperative Bank for public homage, the body was brought to her house in Thodiyoor at night.

Akhil didn’t know what to do when he heard the news. Akhil works in the revenue department. Akhil got the news when he was sitting in the printing firm to get the wedding cards printed. He went straight to the private hospital in Bharanikavu. Akhil left the hospital at 4.30 pm after completing the procedures and shifting the body in an ambulance.
