THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ration distribution at various shops in the state were disrupted on Saturday due to technical glitch in the E-POS machines. Usually this occurs during the month end. But now the glitch occurred in the first week of the month itself, causing trouble to the people.
The incident took place when the shops opened yesterday after a two-day holiday. Shops will be open tomorrow as today is a holiday. The authorities had revealed yesterday that BSNL, the Internet service provider of the Ration E-POS server, has increased the bandwidth to resolve the issues. The Civil Supplies Department had also decided to conduct camps on a taluk-wise basis to inspect the machines in each shop and ensure efficiency.
