THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been lodged with the police against the persons who took the box containing the kidney in the incident where a kidney patient died after undergoing organ transplant surgery at the Medical College Hospital. The complaint was lodged at the Medical College police station by the superintendent and principal of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. In the complaint, it was alleged that outsiders took the box containing the kidney from the ambulance before the doctors arrived. The complaint also stated that the outsiders behaved rudely in front of the closed operation theatre.

Meanwhile, ambulance driver Anas said that the box containing the kidneys was taken away by others as the hospital officials did not come to receive the box. "No one came from the hospital to take the box. Even the security personnel were not ready for it. Following this, the box containing the kidneys was taken by others" Anas said.

Thiruvananthapuram Karakkonam native Suresh Kumar (62) died on Sunday morning after undergoing organ transplant surgery. Medical College police had registered a case of unnatural death in the incident. The action was taken on the complaint of the relatives.
