KALPETTA: A scuffle broke out when the UDF activists laid siege to the collectorate alleging severe lapses in the Wayanad rehabilitation. The police arrested and removed the main UDF leaders of the district. The protest was inaugurated by E T Muhammed Basheer MP. The UDF activists surrounded the gates of the Collectorate and prevented employees from entering.

The clash broke out when some employees tried to enter the Collectorate during the protest. The UDF workers rushed to the Collectorate premises and said that no employee would be allowed to enter the Collectorate. The main demand of the protesters is to provide at least ten cents of land to each family.

Congress leader T Siddique MLA leading the protests said the chief minister visited Wayanad along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has not visited the place after that and will not allow anyone to disrupt the protests.
