THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Minister's Office has said that Rahul Gandhi made a wrong statement by saying that he had not received a reply from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan even after one month on a letter sent about the buffer zone issue. The letter written to the Chief Minister dated June 8, 2022 was received at the CM's office on June 13, 2022.

The Chief Minister has replied to Rahul Gandhi in a letter dated June 23, 2022. In the letter, CM assured that all the concerns raised on the buffer zone issue after the Supreme Court verdict, would be resolved with necessary steps and asked him to raise the issue in the coming session of Parliament. As per the statement from CM's office, Rahul Gandhi's claim that he had not received reply to the letter was false.

During the UDF rally in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi said that he has not received a reply even after a month on a letter sent to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the buffer zone issue. Rahul Gandhi warned that the Chief Minister should act according to the will of the people and if not he will protest strongly. He was inaugurating a rally held by the UDF against the anti-farmer stance of the central and state governments on the buffer zone issue.
