SIVAGIRI: Minister M B Rajesh said Sree Narayana Guru considered Sivagiri Pilgrimage as an experiment of truth to improve material life further and make it a fine example. Sree Narayana Guru called for a very modest and exemplary pilgrimage to Sivagiri. Minister M B Rajesh added that he envisioned the Sivagiri Pilgrimage as a program of study and inquiry based on eight important areas that touch human life: education, agriculture, technology and sanitation. The minister was speaking while inaugurating the 92nd Sivagiri Pilgrimage.
President of Sree Narana Dharma Sangham Trust Swami Satchidananda presided over the function. General Secretary Swami Subhangananda delivered the Anugraha speech. V Joy MLA, former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, Adoor Prakash MP and former Union Minister V Muraleedharan attended the function.
Ahead of the 92nd Sivagiri Pilgrimage, there was a large flow of Sree Narayana devotees from all districts of the state and other states for the pilgrimage programs that began on December 15. With the pilgrimage days, Sivagiri turns into a yellow sea. Pilgrimages from various centers started reaching Sivagiri under the auspices of SNDP Yogam and various Sree Narayana movements. The official reception for the padayatras will be held this evening.
Education Minister V Shivankutty will inaugurate the education meet today. Minister G R Anil will preside over the function. Gurumuni Narayana Prasad, chief of Narayana Gurukula will be felicitated at the function. Sree Narayana Guru Open University Vice Chancellor Dr V P Jagathiraj will be the special guest. SNDP yogam president Dr M N Soman, Mons Joseph MLA and ADGP P Vijayan will deliver the keynote address.
The science and technology conference to be held at 2 pm will be inaugurated by Finance Minister K N Balagopal. Interdisciplinary Science and Technology National Institute director Dr Anantha Ramakrishnan will preside. Former Minister Kadakampally Sarendran MLA will inaugurate the higher education conference on hygiene and health at 5 pm.
