NEW DELHI: The police caned the UDF MPs from Kerala to staging a protest march in Delhi against the SilverLine Project. The march staged by the members in front of Gandhi Statue in Parliament was stopped by the police and without any provocation slapped Hibi Eden. They pushed T N Prathapan and K Muraleedharan and then dragged Benny Behanan after holding his collar. Ramya Haridas said that she was beaten by the male police.

It is common for MPs to protest in Vijay Chowk. There were no women cops in the team who came to stop the protests.

Hibi Eden and Anto Antony had given notice for an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on the Silver Line project. The action of the police towards the MPs were when they were going to the Parliament after the protests. Hibi Eden's notice said the LDF government in Kerala is using police to suppress the popular protests against the project. The MP also mentioned in the notice that the whole of Kerala is against the project.
