Policeman found hanging; relatives allege workload as reason

UDIYANKULANGARA: A civil police officer was found hanging in Anavoor. The deceased has been identified as Sreekumar (54) of Vellara House in Anavoor. He was an officer at Kottarakkara station and was recently transferred to Vellarada station. Relatives said he was under mental stress due to the heavy workload.

However, Marayamuttam police officials said that he had not come to work properly after being transferred to Vellarada station. There is no information about the overloading of work. The cause of death is being investigated, officials said. His wife Sindhu is an employee of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Children: Nirmal and Varsha.
