KOCHI: The High Court has said that the government can go ahead with the process of introducing chipless PVC PetG card for driving licenses and RC books. Transport Joint Secretary M Sheela had given an affidavit in the High Court that the decision to use smart optical card with chip was reversed and the government has decided to go ahead with PVC G card without chip. The division bench comprising Justice A Muhammad Mushtaq and Justice Shobha Annamma Eapen gave the order considering this. Before finalizing the tender for the same, the proceedings should be communicated to the court. The division bench heard a plea filed by Delhi-based Rosmerta Solutions against the finalization of the tender process related to PVC G cards. The plea will be heard again on February 28.
