Excise officer faint to death after completing 1500m in sports meet

PALAKKAD: An Excise preventive officer fainted down to death after participating in a sports meet in Kochi. The deceased is R Venukumar who works in Palakkad. As part of the excise sports meet, Venukumar participated in the 1500 m race after which he fainted down unconsciously.

Venu who worked in the Palakkad Excise intelligence bureau always showed his mettle in work and is a recipient of the best excise officer award for more than one time. He leaves behind his wife Sheeba and daughters Amrita and Archa.
