NEW DELHI: The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has sent former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to seven-day ED custody in the excise policy corruption case. ED had sought 10 days of custody of Sisodia in the matter. However, the special court allowed seven days of custody.
The arrest of Sisodia, who was earlier arrested by the CBI in the excise policy case, was recorded by the ED the other day. The ED recorded the arrest while the court was about to hear Sisodia's bail plea in the CBI case today. The hearing of the bail plea has been postponed to March 21.
Meanwhile, ED apprised the court that the proceeds of the crime are quantified for over Rs. 292 crores. The ED said that it wants Sisodia in custody to trace the financial sources.
