NEW DELHI: Fearing the sporadic rise in covid cases across the country, the central government has sent letters of warning to states. Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Karnataka were served with letters from the union health ministry asking to adopt caution.

Checking, treatment, vaccination, and tracking should go without any hindrance, says the letter. Some states have shown a rapid rise in cases of Covid. India has long remained a bulwark to the various infections and viruses rummaging through public places. The health ministry asked the state governments to keep intact the long-built wall of resistance.

After a span of four months, India today reported 700 new cases of Covid. Therefore the total count of covid cases in the country jumped to 4623.
