‘BJP is trying to make Rahul Gandhi a hero, he is Modi’s biggest TRP’, says Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “If Rahul Gandhi is the face of the opposition, then no one will be able to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”, said Mamata Banerjee. She said that Modi's biggest TRP is Rahul Gandhi. Mamata made this remark while speaking to the party workers in Murshidabad today in a virtual address from Kolkata.

“BJP is trying to make Rahul Gandhi a hero. BJP is not letting the parliament to function as they want Rahul to be the leader. Rahul Gandhi is the reason why Modi remains in power. Congress is kneeling before BJP.”, said Mamata. She also alleged that CPI(M) and BJP are instigating the minorities against Trinamool. Trinamool Congress lost one seat in the recent by-elections. Congress won this seat. Trinamool MP and leader of the party in Lok Sabha Sudip Bandyopadhyay had accused that the BJP is benefiting from Rahul Gandhi as he is the face of the opposition.

Mamata Banerjee and Congress have been at loggerheads for the past few years. Trinamool Congress won seats in Bengal and North Eastern states in the recent assembly elections. Congress is upset about this. Rahul Gandhi blamed the Trinamool Congress for the political violence in Bengal. Following this, Mamata Banerjee criticized Rahul Gandhi.
