Food poisoning for those who attended Iftar feast; many people who were admitted to the hospital in serious condition

KOLKATA: Many people who attended the Iftar feast organized to mark the beginning of Ramzan suffered from food poisoning. People who attended an Iftar feast at a mosque in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas on Friday contracted food poisoning en masse. It is reported that many people have been admitted to various hospitals in Kolkata after falling ill. Many are in critical condition.


Many who attended the Iftar feast organized on Friday at the Pakhiralaya village mosque had been suffering from severe vomiting and abdominal pain the next day. Later, many people were admitted to various hospitals with similar symptoms. As it was the first Friday of the month of Ramzan, many people attended the feast in the mosque. This has increased the number of victims of food poisoning. The patients have lodged a complaint with the police.
