I even thought of doing circus with Pakru to buy some food: Tini Tom recounts ordeal

Tini Tom and Guinness Pakru once had an on-stage partnership that most Malayalis loved. Tickets for their stage shows sold like hot cakes and even Malayalees in foreign countries invited them for many stage programmes. Tini, in recent interviews, has opened up about his stage shows with Pakru and one of his unforgettable memories was in Germany.

In a special TV program 'Tini Kadhakal', Tini recounted his experience of losing his bag, that contained passports, at an airport in Germany and the events that followed.

"It was always a busy run from Frankfurt to Cologne. Pakru should always be carried. Once I was running with him in my hand to catch a train to board the next flight. He is in my hand as we approach the flight. I asked him where the passport was. He looked at me and asked whether I have it. We have no memory of where it was put," he said.

"Everyone with us have boarded the flight and we were at an unfamiliar airport. So we ran out through the emergency gate to get our passport bag. Luckily the bag was there. Now we have to look at ways to leave from there. We had no money, no ticket, nothing. We don't know what to do".

"At this point I told Pakru, let's start some circus company or something at the airport. We haven't had any food and were hungry. On checking the bag, we got a few pound coins from the bag. That would get us a coffee and some french fries. So we called the person who ran the event. By the grace of God they came running. We got our tickets and left for Cologne," Tini added.
