Youths held with ganja in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: Two youths have been arrested for selling ganja in Cherthala. Six kilos of cannabis were seized from them. The arrested are 24-year-old Prijith from Mararikulam Kanichukulangara and 26-year-old Nithin from Cherthala Thekkumuri. Srikanth, who was with them fled from the spot. The search for him is progressing.

Alappuzha Anti-Narcotics Special Squad circle inspector M Mahesh and his party and Alappuzha Excise jointly caught them for bringing ganja from other states to the home town and delivering it to the needy.

Alappuzha Excise Squad Preventive Officer C N Bijulal Civil Excise Officers S Dileesh, Vipin V K, K T Kalesh, Augustine Jose, V Rashmi, woman civil excise officer V Reshmi, IB excise inspector A Femin and preventive officers Roy Jacob and G Alexander also partook in the raid.
