ED serves notice to VS Sivakumar; former minister asked to appear for questioning on April 20

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has served a notice to former minister and Congress leader VS Sivakumar asking him to appear for questioning on April 20. The ED has also asked Sivakumar's then-private secretary to appear for questioning. The ED served the notice on the allegations regarding the financial transactions during the period when VS Sivakumar served as Health Minister in the Oommen Chandy government.

In 2020, the ED had conducted raids at the houses of Sivakumar and the people who were believed to be his benamis.

It was also found in the vigilance investigation that Sivakumar had illegally acquired properties in his own name and in the names of his benamis. Following this, an FIR was registered. The ED conducted the preliminary investigation based on the vigilance probe and FIR.
