Very few actors in our society have the guts to express their stand openly. Mamukkoya is one actor who always used to openly express his stand. Mamukkoya himself had revealed about an incident that showcased the sharpness of his stand. One such incident was his stand regarding the Babri Masjid issue.

Mamukkoya had said that some people raised the emotion of the public by spreading the word about the demolition of Babri Masjid. "Babri Masjid had been remaining closed without prayers for several years. I went there and saw it myself. What shocked me was not the demolition of the mosque. People there have not even seen a Rs 100 note till now. Most of them do labour works for a mere wage of Rs 50 and 60. Has any politician talked about this?" Mamukkoya said.

Mamukkoya passed away on Wednesday afternoon. He was 76 years old. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. On April 24, Mamukkoya was admitted to a hospital in Vandoor after he collapsed during the inauguration event of All India Sevens football in Malappuram's Kalikavu Poongad. He was later shifted to the hospital in Kozhikode after he lost consciousness due to brain haemorrhage.
