Mamata Banerjee govt bans 'The Kerala story', taunts Kerala CPM

KOLKATA: Controversial movie, “The Kerala Story” will not be screened in West Bengal, said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The CM confirmed placing a ban on the movie in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee later questioned the CPM for towing to the BJPs line and screening the movie in Kerala. She said a new movie about the Bengal riots was also in the cards, and said the government won't allow any such movie to run in theaters.

Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, the multiplex association decide not to screen the movie citing law and order issues. Tamil Nadu government has thus confirmed the end of screening of the movie inside the state.

To show restraint against the government's actions, Tamil Nadu BJP did a special screening of the movie which even saw BJP national chief J P Nadda taking part in it.
