Boy gets entangled in swing rope, dies

KASARGOD: A 9-year-old boy choked to death on Monday after his neck got accidentally entangled in the rope of a swing. The deceased is Sarang, son of Kasargod Vellarikkundu native Sudheesh and Sunitha. Sarang was playing in front of the house when he got entangled in the rope of the swing. Sarang was a Class 4 student at Government School, Kamballur.

Meanwhile, police had arrested the in-laws of a woman in connection with the suicide of the woman in Kachani in Aruvikkara. The arrested persons are Anchal Eroor native Manmadhan (78) and his wife Vijaya (71). Their daughter-in-law Anupriya (29) was found hanging in her house last Tuesday.

The arrest was made on the complaint of Anupriya's relatives. They had alleged that Anupriya committed suicide due to mental torture by her husband and in-laws. Anupriya's husband Manu, the first accused in the case, is in Gulf. The accused have been charged with dowry harassment, domestic violence and abetment of suicide.
