Man kills wife for cooking curry without rice, arrested

BHUVANESWAR: A 40-year-old man killed his wife for not cooking rice. Police said the incident happened at Sambalpur in Odisha. Sanatan Dharua of Nuadhi village killed his wife, Pushpa Dharua (35).

The heinous crime happened in Jamankira Police Station area on Sunday night. The couple has two children. Their daughter works as a domestic help in Kuchinda and their son had gone to his friend's house.

When Sanatan came home, his wife had made curry but not rice. This led to an argument between the two and in a fit of rage, he bludgeoned her to death. When their son returned home, found his mother lying dead. He immediately informed the police. The man was taken into custody.
