letter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police are planning to settle the investigation in the controversy surrounding Thiruvananthapuram mayor’s appointment letter which had stoked a controversy. The letter of the mayor in her letter pad sent to the district secretary for the party list over the vacancy in the health department of the corporation, had surfaced. The letter of standing committee chairman D R Anil demanding appointment in the medical college were also out. The mayor and the district secretary faced the allegations claiming that the letter was fake.

The CPM and police investigations in the controversy reached nowhere. The CPM ended the controversy by changing the chairman of the standing committee. An investigation by the crime branch and vigilance had started. However, these two investigations did not reach anywhere. Since there was no appointment, the vigilance is of the stand that there is no corruption in it. Meanwhile, the original letter is reportedly to have been destroyed. After CPM's action, the opposition's protests also came to a standstill.
