KANNUR: An elephant gave birth in the middle of the road. The elephant gave birth near a nursery on Kizhpally-Palapuzha route near Aralam Farm in Kannur. The incident happened last night. The road was closed after other elephants provided security and shelter for the baby elephant.
After delivery, the elephant and her baby spent several hours on the road. The elephant with the baby moved to the forest near the Aralam farm. In the meanwhile, other elephants guarded the two. The forest department informed that both are fine. The officials said the two are being monitored. The RT team of the forest department is also there.
Meantime, the Tamil Nadu Forest Department informed that Arikomban shifted from Kerala to Tamil Nadu is healthy. The elephant is now in the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Sanctuary. Tamil Nadu Forest Environment Department Additional Chief Secretary Supriya Sahu shared the videos of the elephant eating food. The visuals were captured by the officials of the forest department monitoring the elephant.
