BMW car catches fire on busy road; driver makes narrow escape, video out

CHENNAI: A BMW car caught fire on a busy road in Chennai. The incident took place at Chrompet in Chennai. Traffic was disrupted in the area for more than half an hour following the fire. Fortunately, a tragedy was averted as the driver got out of the car immediately after seeing smoke coming out of the car.

The video of the green-coloured BMW 3 Series GT burning into flames is going viral on social media. The car was driven by a 22-year-old named Parthasarathy. The accident occurred when Parthasarathy was travelling from Thiruvallikeni to Tindivanam. Smoke came out of the car while the car was moving. Upon seeing the smoke, Parthasarathy stopped the car and got out of it. The car caught fire after some time. The fire force soon reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
