Scissors in stomach of Harsheena; Revised charge sheet will be submitted to court today, four including two doctors in accused list

KOZHIKODE: The investigation team will submit a revised charge sheet to the court today in the case of leaving a pair of scissors inside the stomach of Harsheena during caesarean section. Two doctors and two nurses who were on duty at the time of the surgery are on the list of the accused. They were implicated on the basis of scientific evidence.

Medical College assistant commissioner K Sudarshan clarified the other day that the list of the accused is being submitted as part of further proceedings of the case investigation. The investigation is in the final stage. The lapse on the part of the doctors is clear. The assistant commissioner said Harsheena's argument is true.

Harsheena, a native of Pantheerankavu lived with severe pain for five years after the scissors were left inside her abdomen during caesarean section in 2017. The incident happened during her third caesarean section performed.

She was in severe pain after the surgery. The doctors said the difficulties were due to the caesarean. However, an examination at a private hospital in Kozhikode noticed a metal object in her stomach. The abdominal scissors were removed in a surgery performed at the Kozhikode Medical College in 2022.
