Low pressure in Bay of Bengal, cloudburst and extremely heavy rain likely in Kerala

rain-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal will become a low-pressure tomorrow and the state will receive heavy rain this week. Cloudbursts are also possible as rain clouds are higher than usual. If that happens, it will rain very heavily.

Heavy rainfall in a short period of time can cause river floods and flash floods. Due to monsoon winds, rain continues in southern districts. Heavy rain is also possible in hilly areas. Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam and Wayanad districts will be given special alert today or tomorrow.

Possibility of landslides

Landslides are also possible in hilly areas. Due to the continuous rains of the last few days, more water has seeped into the soil. As its quantity increases, the pressure under the soil increases. That's when the landslides happen. Those in hilly areas should be extra cautious.
