THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Food Minister G.R. Anil requested the protesting ration traders to not deny ration to eligible families under Section 3 of the National Food Security Act, 2013 on Monday. He warned about taking strict action against the traders if the ration distribution gets halted due to the strike on Monday.
The minister upheld the right to protest but reproached anything that halts the proper distribution of ration to eligible card owners.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Ration Employees Federation (AITUC) said all ration shops will work on Monday irrespective of the announced protest. AITUC also condemned the protest announced by some sections by calling it 'politically motivated'.
