'Should say this, will have to pay a heavy price;' Mukesh MLA criticizes government

KOLLAM: Kollam MLA M Mukesh's recent Facebook post severely criticizes the government, specifically targeting the Transport Department and the KSRTC management for their silence regarding the condition of the Kollam KSRTC bus stand.

In the post, he outlines the efforts he has undertaken to address this issue, despite the authorities failing to take any substantial action, even after the MLA approved funds for the construction of the building. He underscores the gravity of the situation by highlighting his repeated inquiries about it in the assembly.

Furthermore, the MLA mentions his personal meetings with the ministers of the first and second left ministries to discuss and convey the urgency of the matter. The post also includes a photograph depicting the deteriorated state of the depot.

Should say this...After realizing that the KSRTC bus stand building located in the heart of Kollam city is in a dangerous condition, I intervened as much as I could as an MLA. I also sent a letter to the concerned department, proposing that we allocate one crore initially from the MLA fund followed by an additional six crore.

Many times, questions have been raised in the Assembly regarding this issue, and efforts have been made to emphasize the seriousness of the concerns.

In both the 1st and 2nd Cabinets, we directly met with the Ministers and successfully convinced them of the immediate need for the Kollam depot. It's not just a commercial building; it's a crucial facility where passengers can board safely and without fear.
