Kollam MLA M Mukesh criticized the KSRTC management and the transport department for their silence, despite the perilous condition of the Kollam KSRTC bus stand, in a Facebook post. In the post, he detailed the efforts he had made in this matter when the authorities failed to take action, even though he had approved the funding for the building's construction.

He emphasized the seriousness of the situation by repeatedly raising questions about it in the assembly. The MLA's grievance is that despite meeting with department ministers during both the first and second left ministries and advocating for the issue, no progress has been made.

In response to this, Youth Congress leader Rahul Mangoottathil has taken a mocking stance. He posted on Facebook, ‘Isn't this the same person who urged us to vote for Jaick to secure a new bus stand in Puthupally?’
