Cyber attack: Poojappura police register case on Maria Oommen's complaint

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case on the complaint lodged by Maria Oommen, the daughter of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The Poojapura police registered a case under the sections of sexual abuse and insulting womanhood. In her complaint, Maria Oommen had alleged that there was a widespread cyber attack against her after the results of the Puthuppally elections came out. She alleged that CPIM groups were behind the cyber attack against her.

Earlier Oommen Chandy's younger daughter Achu Oommen had also filed a complaint against the cyber attack. Achu Oommen filed the complaint during the time of the Puthuppally by-election. The investigation into this complaint is ongoing. The police had registered a case against Nandakumar Kolathappilly, a leader of the left-wing organization, in the incident. Following this, Nandakumar issued an apology on Facebook.
