'Taking credit when there is no waterlogging is not enough'; Kochi Corporation receives strong criticism from HC

hc

KOCHI: Kochi urban areas are facing the threat of severe waterlogging due to the heavy rain that has been going on for two days in the state. High Court has raised criticism against the Corporation for the second day of waterlogging in Kochi. High Court criticized the corporation that taking credit when there is no waterlogging is not enough and that they should be prepared to face criticism if there is waterlogging.

The court said this after expressing its displeasure over the non-appearance of the corporation's lawyer in the case. Waterlogging happened again at the place where cleaning was done to avoid waterlogging due to the accumulation of hotel waste. The amicus curiae submitted a report to the court detailing the areas that were flooded during the rains. High Court asked the corporation and the district administration to provide an explanation of waterlogging based on this report. The collector and the municipality have to give an explanation on Thursday.
