Teacher brutally beats student for talking to girl in class; complaint

MALAPPURAM: It has been alleged that a student was brutally beaten by his teacher for talking to a girl in class. A Class 9 student of Crescent Higher Secondary School in Ozhukur was the victim of the teacher's cruelty.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon. The student said that the teacher started beating him after clicking a picture of him talking to his classmate. A complaint has been lodged against the teacher named Subair with the Child Line. The student, who sustained injuries, is now undergoing treatment at Kondotty Taluk Hospital.

The boy's mother said that the teacher, who was not teaching in the class, beat the boy without any reason. "The teacher clicked photos of my son talking to a girl in his class. He then spoke badly in front of other students and went on to beat the child repeatedly. My son suffered injuries on his thigh and other body parts," the mother said.

Meanwhile, the school authorities said that the incident had come to their notice and that they would take further action after seeking an explanation from the teacher.
