THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: The police closed the Namajapa case against the Nair Service Society (NSS). The report that came out said the court accepted the report submitted by the police after further investigation. The NSS staged the Namajapa Yatra in protest against Speaker Shamseer's myth reference. The report said there was no law-and-order issues.

A case was filed against 1000 people including NSS vice president Sangeeth Kumar. The police had decided to waive off the case on the basis of legal advice. It is heard that the government decided to close the case as a part of persuading the NSS as the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner.

The NSS organized the Namajapa procession in Thiruvananthapuram on August 2 over the myth controversy. A case was registered by the Cantonment Police on charges of unauthorized gathering and creating traffic obstruction.
