JAIPUR: Former leader of BJP Minority Morcha has been arrested for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hate speech. The Rajasthan police arrested Muslim Morcha leader Usman Ghani. The BJP expelled Ghani from the Muslim Morcha after he criticized Modi's anti-Muslim remarks.
The Bikaner police explained that the case was filed against Ghani and he was arrested for trying to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. Modi's remarks during an election rally in Rajasthan had stoked a lot of controversy. Modi's speech was that Congress will give the country's property to Muslims. ‘What has been mentioned in the Congress manifesto is raising concerns. This is Maoist argument. Once in power, the country's wealth will be distributed to the intruders. That money will be distributed to people having more children' was Modi's controversial comment. The Election Commission has sought an explanation from Modi after a lot of pressure was raised against this.
Ghani had strongly criticized Modi's remarks. ‘Modi's remarks that wealth will be seized and distributed to Muslims is disappointing. I am also a BJP member. When I go for electioneering to Muslims, they ask me about the Prime Minister's remarks. I'm confused. Ghani told a media that he will write to the Prime Minister asking him not to talk like this again. Ghani was suspended from the party for six years after this. Ghani, who was an ABVP activist, joined the BJP in 2005. He then was in charge of Minority Morcha in Bikaner.
