THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Kandala Bank president and CPM leader N Bhasurangan will not appear for questioning in the money laundering case on Friday. He has requested another day due to some inconvenience. ED will take a decision in this regard soon. The instruction in the ED notice was for Bhasurangan to appear at the Kochi office tomorrow morning.

Bhasurangan, son Akhiljith and daughter Bhima were interrogated for ten hours yesterday. As a continuation of this he was asked to appear again tomorrow. The ED also asked to produce Bhasurangan's tax records. The interrogation is based on the documents found during the raids at the bank and Bhasurangan's house.

Meanwhile, Bhasurangan told the media that there was no fraud but there were irregularities in the bank and that he was innocent. "There is a conspiracy behind the case. I was called not to be questioned but to give a statement.", he said.

The ED is examining the digital documents seized during the raids at the bank and the houses of its employees and Bhasurangan. Scientific testing of computer hard disk, CPU etc. has also started. Many documents were seized during the 35-hour long raid. Interrogation is based primarily on the information obtained from these. The details of those who have invested heavily in the bank has also been collected. ED sources said that they will also be questioned in the coming days.
