KOTTAYAM: The woman who smashed the headlights of the KSRTC superfast bus in Kodimatha has responded about the incident. The accused, Ponkunnamm native Sulu, said that she smashed the headlights of the bus after the bus driver used abusive language against her. Sulu also said that she will file a complaint against the KSRTC employee for driving carelessly and insulting womanhood.
"My mother and I were returning after visiting my mother's house. It was a highway and the road was wide enough. The KSRTC bus came at a high speed. It rubbed on the car and smashed a mirror on the side. If I hadn't moved the car to the side, there would have been a big accident. The bus driver did not stop the bus. When I chased it down and asked about the matter, the driver spoke badly and used abusive language. With this, I got provoked, took the lever and smashed the headlights," Sulu said.
Meanwhile, the police arrested Sulu in the incident. The court later granted her bail after she paid Rs 46000 as compensation. The police registered the case under non-bailable sections, including destruction of public property. The Chingavanam police registered the case and investigated the incident.
