THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the Congress was making deliberate efforts to disrupt the Nava Kerala Sadas. Govindan said that three people jumping in front of a car with a black flag was not a protest but a suicide attempt.

"No one has imposed a ban on protesting. The other day, we saw two or three people jump in front of the vehicle like suicide attackers. That was done very deliberately. The decision of the government and the LDF is to move ahead with self-restraint without succumbing to any such provocation," Govindan said.

"The people did not accept the opposition's decision to boycott the Nava Kerala Sadas. With the programme receiving huge popular support, the Congress is indulging in activities to sabotage it by creating fear. The government decided to hold such a programme to expose the false propaganda of bourgeois parties and right-wing media," he said.

"The media is blindly adopting anti-leftist, anti-government and anti-chief minister positions. Similarly, the Congress leaders are taking a stance of not hesitating to say anything. The terms they are using are examples of this. The use of such kind of foul words is part of the Kanugolu theory. The first thing of that theory is to target the Chief Minister. If you decide to implement the Kanugolu theory in Kerala, you will soon realize that Kerala is not a state where it can be done," Govindan added.
