Excise sleuths discover man's criminal 'cultivation' using grow bags on terrace, arrest him

ALAPPUZHA: Two ganja plants grown on the terrace of a house in Cherthala were found by Excise sleuths. A man cultivated cannabis in growbags on his terrace. The said person, Francis Pius (23), was arrested in the incident. The ganja plants were found from Andakaranazhi area under the leadership of Excess Range Inspector VJ Roy. The accused was produced before the court and remanded.

Meanwhile, two youths were caught by the Mannar police with pills used for making drugs. Safath (24) from Ochira's Thattekat Kota and Irfad (22) of Kurachireth House were arrested from Alumoodu Junction in Mannar. Following a secret information received by CI Jose Mathew, the accused who arrived in a two-wheeler with 50 nitrozepam pills and a fake doctor's note were caught in the investigation.

The police said that they were trading nitrozepam tablets and other ingredients to make more intoxicating drugs. The accused who were produced in the Chengannur First Class Judicial Magistrate Court were remanded.
