KATTAKADA: A school student who brought marijuana in a candy box and distributed it among students was arrested on Friday. The student was arrested on Friday morning in Mylottumoozhi area of Kattakada during the inspection conducted by Excise's mobile intervention unit in the border areas on the basis of a tip-off received about illegal ganja trades in schools.
The ganja was assiduously wrapped in candy covers and was stored in a jar and brought to school for distribution. The student was under surveillance of the special team and the arrest was made on Friday after acquiring enough evidence. The team found 115 packets of ganja weighing nearly 1kg.
A team consisitign of Excise Inspector K. Shyamkumar, Civil Excise Officers P. Shankar, M. Visakh, K.R. Rajith made the arrest. As the accused is a juvenile, the proceedings will be completed and he will be produced in the court.
