KANNUR: A farmer, who got a revenue recovery notice from the bank, was found hanging in his house. The dairy farmer has been identified as M R Albert (68) of Kolakkad in Kannur. The farmer was found hanging when his wife Valsala returned from the church early Monday morning.
Albert’s family said that he had a financial liability of Rs 2 lakh in the Kerala Bank. He had received a notice of proceedings from the bank in connection with it. Albert was president of Kolakkad Dairy Cooperative Society and a social activist.
He had taken a personal loan from Kerala Cooperative Bank’s Peravoor branch in his wife’s name. A notice was received from the Kerala Bank on behalf of his wife stating that the dues must be repaid this month itself and if not, further action will be taken. The family members said that he tried to get money from many places but did not get it and that he was depressed over it. He leaves behind his children Asha, Ambili and Sister Anita.
