Drunk driving: Cases registered against two transport bus drivers and six school bus drivers

THRIPPUNITHURA: Two KSRTC drivers and six school bus drivers were caught red-handed for driving under the influence of alcohol in a surprise inspection carried out by the police.

Cases were registered against KSRTC drivers Kottayam Villoonni native Arun T Gopi Das (41), Kuzhimattam native TGM Skaria (45), and Irumpanam native Roni SS (29) during the inspection conducted by the Thrippunithura Hill Palace Police. The KSRTC buses were operating on the Vaikom - Thrippunithura route. The buses that were taken into custody were released after new drivers arrived.

Cases were registered against school bus drivers Aluva Ashokapuram native Jayesh (38), Chengamanadu native Suryakumar (46), Madathumpadi native Davis (63), Karukadam native Ranjith (34), Ilanji native Cyril (35) and Paravur native Siyar (39) after they were caught red-handed during a surprise inspection carried out by the rural police.
