THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After showing several pictures, the child abducted in Oyur identified one of her kidnappers, Padmakumar, a native of Chathannoor taken into custody. The investigators went to the girl's house and showed her 11 pictures. Although she did not recognize the pictures of the women in custody, as soon as she saw the colour pictures of Padmakumar, she told the police that this was the bald man she said about. As soon as the girl returned home, she spoke about a 'bald uncle' who was among the abductors.

The police have also found the house where the child was staying on the night of the abduction. As per reports, this is Padmakumar's farmhouse. The police team that came to take the father's statement in the morning returned later to show the pictures to the child. The accused allegedly abducted the baby as a revenge for a financial fraud to go abroad. The police had already hinted that a financial dispute was behind the kidnapping.

The accused were arrested by the police at Thenkashi in Tamil Nadu on Friday evening. The ones in police custody are members of the same family. Among them are one woman and two men. Along with them, 2 vehicles have also been taken into custody.

According to the police, one of the 3 arrested persons is directly related to the abduction. Three were taken into custody during an ongoing investigation centered around the child's father. The police were probing whether there were financial transactions related to the recruitment of nurses and admission to nursing.
